Dragonfly Software is developing dynamic weather-effects for the Torque Game Engine. Our middleware add-ons produce a more immersive and life-like gaming experience. Our code is designed to be modular, flexible, clearly written and well documented to save end-developers time, money and aggravation.

Dragonfly Software also does occasional contract-programming, and has numerous other projects in the development pipeline! Dragonfly Software is a 2008 software-startup based in the Lowcountry region of SC, USA.


Dragonfly Software’s mission is to deliver unique and creative visualization software that fulfills niche-demands in the larger gaming-industry.


Dragonfly Software was founded in June of 2008, by Rowan University Computer-Science graduate Steven Peterson.

From 2005-2008 Steven began a series of middleware add-ons for the Torque Game Engine. These projects quickly out-grew their original hobbyist-scope and were dually shelved for lack of time. In early 2008, partly in response to continued community demand, it was decided these resources were worthy of completion. To that end, Dragonfly Software was founded.

Dragonfly Software will handle development, sales, and support of these products with the goals of delivering high-quality software and professional customer-service.


Cirrus Skies: Cloud Manager – is a new ‘Cloud Management System’ for the Torque Game Engine. It adds new functionality and flexibility, allowing game developers to quickly create beautiful, lifelike and dynamic skies for their games.

EnviroTorque 2.0 – is a dynamic-weather module for the Torque Game Engine by Garage Games. It includes life-like weather patterns, date-and-time calendar and celestial day/night cycles.
